Privacy, cookies and legal notice
What information is used, why it is needed and how you can manage your preferences.
The controller is Rebecca Baron, a freelance translator in the province of Vicenza, Italy, VAT number 03843850243. For information about your data or to exercise your rights, email info@rebeccabaron.it.
The form collects your name, email address and message to understand and answer your enquiry. Further project details are optional: organisation, service, materials and quantity, languages, deadline, type of collaboration and how you found me. Please leave out sensitive personal data and confidential documents; we can agree a suitable channel first.
For enquiries about a possible assignment, processing is based on taking steps at your request before a contract under GDPR Article 6(1)(b). For correspondence with company and agency representatives, it is based on the legitimate interest in managing professional contacts under Article 6(1)(f). The form does not subscribe you to a newsletter or authorise promotional emails.
The enquiry includes the form language and entry/form page paths, without query strings or fragments. Where present, it also includes campaign source, medium and name. I use this context to assess which content generates professional enquiries, without advertising profiles. It is not linked to optional website statistics.
Brevo forwards the enquiry to the professional mailbox hosted by OVHcloud. No automatic acknowledgement is sent to the visitor. The website does not create an enquiry database or log message contents in application logs. Correspondence is accessible to Rebecca and any people specifically authorised to help manage it.
When you visit the online website, Cloudflare infrastructure processes technical connection data, including IP addresses and request characteristics, to deliver pages and protect the service. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in website security and operation. Your browser language helps select Italian or English; you can change it at any time.
The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to assess technical browser and connection signals and prevent automated submissions. Cloudflare acts as a processor for website protection and as an independent controller when improving its bot detection, as described in its Turnstile privacy notice. Your IP address and verification token are not included in the enquiry email. If the check prevents submission, you can email me directly.
The website does not use advertising cookies or profiling tools. Browsing, language selection and links do not depend on accepting statistics.
Optional statistics start only after your explicit choice. You can accept, reject or change your choice through “Cookie preferences”, always available in the footer. Closing the initial notice or pressing Escape keeps statistics off; scrolling does not express consent. Rejecting does not restrict the website or enquiry form.
| Local storage | Purpose and content | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| becky-consent-v1 | Stores your statistics preference, the preference version and choice/expiry dates in your browser. It contains no personal identifier and is used to respect your choice. | Six calendar months. If storage is unavailable, your choice applies to the current page. |
This technical storage remembers your preference and does not require additional consent. Clearing browser data may cause the notice to appear again. Withdrawal stops new measurements without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
If you consent, Cloudflare Analytics Engine records a page view, the start of form completion and acceptance of a submission by the email service. Events contain a page category, language, event type and timestamp, alongside counters and technical aggregation metadata. The dataset does not store names, email addresses, messages, IP addresses, full URLs, campaign labels or persistent visitor identifiers. The IP address may be used transiently to limit abuse of the endpoint, without being added to the dataset.
The legal basis is consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a). Reports aggregate events by day, page and language to help improve the content. They do not identify unique visitors and are not joined to email enquiries. Counts reflect only events actually collected from consenting visitors; acceptance by the email service does not prove mailbox delivery.
Cloudflare retains Analytics Engine data for three months. The local report contains aggregates; provider retention does not automatically remove local copies. I keep only the current report for website review and delete previous copies under my control when I update it. If I do not update it, I delete it within three calendar months of its generation.
For enquiries that do not lead to an assignment, I keep correspondence for no more than six calendar months after the last meaningful interaction about the enquiry, and delete it sooner when it is no longer needed. Assignment materials and accounting and tax records follow their respective contractual needs and legal retention obligations. Any documented need to protect legal rights is handled separately.
Brevo transactional logs are set to one month; previews of new messages are not retained. This does not delete email from the OVHcloud mailbox or determine every provider metadata or backup retention period. Brevo open and click tracking is set to anonymous mode, which does not switch it off.
Cloudflare provides the website infrastructure. Where the form is active, Brevo and OVHcloud process data for email delivery and mailbox operation. Some provider processing may take place outside the European Economic Area with applicable safeguards, including standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions where relevant. You can request information about the safeguards involved.

You can request access, correction, erasure, restriction and, where applicable, portability of your data. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw statistics consent through the preferences panel. For other requests, email info@rebeccabaron.it.
You can complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority or your competent supervisory authority. No solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects are made about individuals.
